Project Highlights
Location: Eeyou Istchee James Bay region, Québec, Canada
Update: As of November 2025
Project Overview:
Elmer East is a 100 %-owned property of Comet Lithium, located in the Eastmain Greenstone Belt approximately 100 km north-northwest of the Nemiscau Cree community. The property comprises 37 claims covering 1,942 ha. The initial field work during the summer 2025 has delivered a discovery of a spodumene-bearing LCT-type (Lithium–Caesium–Tantalum) pegmatite dyke, confirming the property’s strong potential for lithium-cesium mineralization.
2025 Exploration Program Overview
- In June 2025, a first-pass program was conducted (June 25-30) in partnership with Dahrouge Geological Consulting, including geological mapping, structural measurements, and collection of 66 rock samples, targeted at outcrops in the southern block of the property.
- In August 2025, assay results from the grassroots pegmatite returned high lithium (8,640 ppm Li → 1.86 % Li₂O) and high caesium (23,100 ppm Cs → 2.46% Cs₂O) values, along with elevated Ta (745 ppm Ta₂O₅) and Rb/Ga geochemistry consistent with a fertile evolved LCT-pegmatite system.
- In September 2025, a Phase 2 follow-up program was announced deploying three field teams to carry out mapping, prospecting, sampling and channel work in and around the initial discovery zone.
- In October 2025, trenching and prospecting extended the main dyke to over 200 m strike length (from ~80 m) and identified a new mineralized dyke ~40 m north of the eastern outcrop. Seven dykes/outcrops now mapped within a ~200 m corridor, remaining open in all directions.
Key Highlights
- Discovery of spodumene-bearing pegmatite dykes (1-2 m to 2-4m width, traced ~200 m along strike, open to the east) in southern claim block.
- Outstanding assay results: e.g., Li₂O ≈ 1.86 %, Cs₂O ≈ 2.46 %, Ta₂O₅ ≈ 745 ppm from initial samples.
- Strong geochemical signature: high Rb, Ga, favourable K/Rb ratio, indicating a highly-evolved LCT pegmatite system.
- Rapid expansion of the mineralised corridor: over 200 m strike length identified, multiple dykes, remains open along strike & at depth.
- A clear, step-wise exploration plan: from mapping → trenching/channel sampling → drill targeting.
2025 Exploration Program Details
- Field program partner: Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd.
- Activities included: prospecting traverses, structural mapping, rock and channel sampling, trenching.
- Focus areas: southern block, high-priority zones identified via satellite imagery and geophysical interpretation (magnetic, structural trends) where bedrock is near surface/outcropping.
Next Steps
- Complete assay results, integrate into detailed geological/structural model (XRD, LIBS, etc).
- Undertake trenching/channel sampling to test lateral and down-dip extension of the pegmatite corridor. (COMPLETED)
- Plan for drill-testing in 2026 to evaluate subsurface continuity, widths, and zonation of the lithium-caesium system.
- Readiness to expand exploration footprint, target additional pegmatite clusters across the larger property.
Future Potential
Elmer East represents a highly prospective lithium-caesium (critical minerals) opportunity within a historically under-explored greenstone belt in Québec. The combination of high-grade surface results, an evolving structural/pegmatite corridor, and a systematic exploration pathway underscores the property’s potential as a value-driver for Comet Lithium.
